    On Thursday at approximately 11:31 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Lamar conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1998 Nissan on East Westfield Avenue at Galloping Hill Road for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Michael C. Iferika, age 26 of Roselle, was found to be in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

In response, the municipality re-worded their ordinance to avoid any possible issues with its constitutionality and were prepared to pass an amended ordinance in September.

One of Mayor Joseph Accardi's objectives ever since being voted into office in 2010 was spearheaded - in earnest this year - by First Ward Councilman Andrew Casais, who was the Finance Committee Chair.

    On Friday, December 5th, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Detective Richard Cocca and Patrolman John Fitzgerald arrested Said Lopez, age 18, from Roselle Park for Possession of an Imitation Firearm and Disorderly Conduct . This arrest was the result of a follow-up investigation regarding an incident that occurred on two evenings before, on December 3rd, in the area of the Roselle Park High School where four juvenile males reported observing a male running toward them carrying a shotgun.

During periods of extreme 'Code Blue' weather conditions, which include overnight temperatures below 25A or temperatures of below 32A with precipitation, emergency shelter assistance will be made available to individuals and families who are without accommodations.

    Fifth Ward Councilman Michael Yakubov, acting as a resident of the Borough and citizen, pleaded guilty to the Disorderly Persons and Criminal Mischief charges in connection with the theft of a Carl Hokanson campaign sign from a neighbor's lawn last month. Standing before Judge Thomas A. Vitale in Kenilworth for the almost 30-minute hearing with his attorney, Ernesto Cerimele, Mr. Yakubov admitted to knowingly taking the sign from a neighbor's lawn and folding it in half, thereby legally damaging property.
