    On October 7th, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of West Westfield Avenue where a witness observed a suspicious male who had just abandoned a bicycle in the area and was last seen walking eastbound on the Route 28. Officer Ryan Hokanson located the suspicious male and abandoned bicycle. Reportedly, it was discovered that the black BMX-style bicycle belonging to a 41-year-old Elizabeth resident was stolen from in front of 405 West Westfield Avenue.

Citing "high ethical standards for the practices, procedures, and actions taken by the Borough make for better governance, and garner improved public trust", the governing body formally prohibited "the use of sitting governing body members, Borough Department Heads, and other Borough employees current at the time of application, as references on applications for employment with the Borough of Roselle Park."
