But how many people who have concealed carry permits commit gun violence? I would suggest it would be difficult or impossible to find few, or any.

    Roseburg shooting: Not only does Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin proudly boast that he will not enforce any laws that might be passed to avoid tragedies like the Umpqua Community College massacre, he deliberately obstructs the current investigation by withholding important information in a self-indulgent and meaningless gesture that The Oregonian/OregonLive editorial board correctly identifies as "grandstanding." Perhaps worst of all is his use of social media to circulate a hateful, if ludicrous, crackpot theory that a similar slaughter in Sandy Hook never actually took place and was somehow staged by the government.
