Ryan Kiesel was driving a 2001 Jeep southbound on Lakeland Avenue near Union Parkway in Ronkonkoma when the vehicle struck a bicyclist, Davon Mention of Ronkonkoma, 14, at approximately 8:10 p.m. Ryan Reilly, a male passenger in the Jeep, exited the vehicle to assist. Reilly was struck by a 2015 Nissan Altima being driven by Stephen Owenburg.

    Sept. 5, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued a man from the water after his unoccupied boat was found floating in the Long Island Sound on Tuesday, September 4. Marine Bureau Officers Cory Kim and Gregory Stroh responded aboard Marine Delta after a fisherman reported finding an unoccupied 9-foot skiff floating in the Long Island Sound at approximately 12 p.m. While officers were responding to that call, a 911 caller reported a person yelling for help in the water off Old Field Road in Setauket . Officers Kim and Stroh located the man, Wen Zhong Wang, 37, of Ronkonkoma , approximately 1/10 of a mile from shore.

Brian Sinclair was operating a 2000 Liebherr crane eastbound on the Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma when it struck a 1999 Nissan Altima, driven by a 26-year-old man, at approximately 6:20 p.m. The crane then struck a 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 61-year-old man, a 2008 Honda Civic driven by a 22-year-old woman and a 2018 Toyota RAV4 driven by a 53-year-old man. All of the vehicles were heading eastbound at the time of the crash.
