    M.J. McHenry discovered in the Hendrix museum an old wax cylinder phonograph record, believed the first ever made in Conway, about 1891. The record reproduced the songs "The Old Gray House Came Tearing Through the Wilderness" and "See the Train Come 'Round the Bend," sung by L.H. Pyle and J.D. Collier.

    Prosecutors dropped a failure to appear charge that was filed against a Conway man accused of shooting another man while the two were watching a Razorback football game. Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland said the failure to appear charge, which was issued Feb. 1 in Faulkner County Circuit Court, against 37-year-old Bryan Walden was dropped after he touched base with the court the day he did not show up for his pretrial.

    A two-week speaking campaign of Faulkner County, to begin at Wooster March 11, and end at Conway March 25, was decided upon at a meeting of candidates held at the courthouse this afternoon. Several candidates were absent from the meeting, those from the northern portion of the country being kept away by high waters, and the matter of conducting a campaign was virtually left by those present to Judge P.H. Prince and Prof.
