    A 19-year-old Monroe man was arrested after what began as a car chase, then ended as a foot chase that allowed him to hide briefly in a wooded area. The incident began at about 3:30 a.m. May 6, on Gibraltar Road, near Walnut Street, when a Flat Rock officer clocked the driver at 45 mph, on a portion of the road where the speed limit is only 25 mph.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner determined in February the death of Jennifer Ann Butkowski, 32, was due to an accidental drug overdose.

    The Wayne County Medical Examier's Office has determined the cause of death for a woman found dead inside a house in Rockwood Jan. 14. Police Chief Randy Krause said Tuesday that results from the medical examiner determined that Jennifer Ann Butkowski, 32, died of an accidental drug overdose. Police were called to the house in the 22600 block of Candace Street after a neighbor saw Thomas jump out a second story window.

    After creating a disturbance at his house that brought Rockwood police to his doorstep, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged Jeffrey Michael Thomas with concealing the dead body of his girlfriend. Jennifer Ann Butkowski, 32, also of Rockwood, was discovered inside the house in the 22600 block of Candace Street, near Olmstead, at about 12:15 a.m. Jan. 14. According to Police Chief Randy Krause, a neighbor called 911 after Thomas jumped out of a second story window of the bilevel house.
