    Strapped for cash as a result of Illinois' year-long budget logjam, Champaign County's mental and behavioral health agency Community Elements is being forced to make deep cuts in two programs serving homeless men and troubled youths. The agency will close its Roundhouse residential facility for youth on June 10 and will shut down the remainder of the level 1 program at its TIMES Center for homeless men in transition on June 30, according to CEO Sheila Ferguson.

    A Chicago man who admitted robbing the same Champaign gas station twice in the same month has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Dale "Fred" Lightfoot, 21, pleaded guilty Friday before Judge Heidi Ladd to two counts of aggravated robbery, admitting that he implied he had a gun during the course of robbing employees at the Circle K, 2315 W. Springfield Ave., C. Lightfoot and another man believed to be involved in the later holdup, Alonzo Chavis, 25, of Rockford, were arrested on Nov. 19 at an apartment complex on Hollycrest Drive after Champaign police were called there by someone saying he or she heard people talking about guns in an apartment hallway.

    Two men arrested early Thursday at a Champaign apartment complex have been charged in connection with two September holdups at a Champaign gas station. Dale "Fred" Lightfoot, 21, of Chicago and Alonzo Chavis, 25, of Rockford were arrested in the 700 block of Hollycrest Drive about 2 a.m. Thursday by officers summoned there for an unknown problem that involved people talking about guns in an apartment hallway.
