Associated Press foreign correspondent Summerlin, who flashed the news to the world that the Korean War had ended and who reported on everything from Latin American revolutions to U.S. race riots during a long and distinguished career, has died at age 89. He died Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at a care home in Carlsbad, Calif., from complications of Parkinson's disease, according to his daughter, Claire Slattery of Encinitas, Calif.
