    While areas of Wyoming received above-average snowfall this past winter and spring, forecasters are not expecting a repeat of last year's flooding that occurred during the annual spring and summer melt. Hydrologist Jim Fahey in Riverton says the main difference between last year and this year is that most of the snow collected high up in the mountains whereas in 2017 a lot of snow piled up at lower elevations as well.

    Members of the United States Marshals Service Wyoming Fugitive Task Force , along with Fremont County Sheriff's Deputies, and Officers from the Riverton Police Department arrested fugitive Cody Breeden, 25, on charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Battery and Theft. The case originates out of the District of Kansas where the fugitive, along with three other men, allegedly forced entry into a Junction City motel room where an ex-girlfriend of Breeden was staying.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports Fremont County School District 25 will recommend the disciplinary actions for its board of trustees to approve following the episode involving students from Riverton.

    The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has declined to reconsider its ruling that the city of Riverton in central Wyoming is not within the boundaries of the Wind River Indian Reservation. A panel of three judges ruled 2-1 in February against an Environmental Protection Agency opinion that said Riverton was on the reservation.
