Riverside could begin requiring medical marijuana users to get a permit to grow their own pot at home, if the City Council approves a proposal to be discussed Tuesday, Jan. 5. The rule changes, prompted by new state regulations that take effect in March, would limit marijuana patients to no more than six plants that would have to be grown indoors, and marijuana could only be grown in single-family zoned areas.
