The Republican candidate in a special election to replace disgraced former Rep. Michael Grimm lost votes by ducking a debate in Bay Ridge on April 22, voters said.

The 22-year-old neighborhood institution still managed to wow new generations experiencing it for the first time, said one reveller who brought her 3-year-old to the march.

The jointly organized vigil was meant to show unity among New York Jews and Arabs, and solidarity with all people they see as over-policed and under-protected by the law.
