    The pace of occupancy rate growth at hotels slowed in June in the Albany, New York area as more rooms hit the market and hundreds more are in the pipeline. The average occupancy rate increased 1 percent in Albany County, and fell 1.7 percent in Saratoga County, the two counties with the most rooms in the region, according to hospitality consulting firm STR Inc. Overall, the average occupancy rate increased 1 percent in Albany, Saratoga, Rensselaer and Schenectady counties in June, and fell 0.3 percent in May. Those results pale in comparison to the first four months of the year, when the average combined occupancy rate increase in the counties ranged from 3.3 percent in February to 9.8 percent in March, compared to the previous year.
