    The Reinbeck United Methodist choir has its 10th annual concert planned and is inviting community members to join in song. Two rehearsals are scheduled on Thursdays at 7 p.m. on April 5 and April 12 with the concert for the public to be held at the church on Sunday, April 15 at 2:30 p.m. Print copies of the music and CDs are available at the Country Closet and singers of any age are welcome to attend one or both rehearsals.

    I seriously doubt that many of you reading this haven't either read some of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books or watched the TV series "Little House On The Prairie" which was based on some of her books. The life and experiences of the author were presented to a packed house of visitors last Sunday at the Grundy County Heritage Museum in Morrison.

    I received yet another letter telling me how child care needs were a reality and that our City Council has made the right decision in funding Reinbeck's daycare. The letter also went on to say I just had to live with the council's decision, that I had stated my opinion and should now move on.

    This past weekend the library held two special events: Dr. Seuss's birthday party and a viewing of its scrapbook collection. Sixty-three children and family members attended the birthday party where Dr. Seuss books were read, some GR students presented a Reader's Theater play, children made a Cat in the Hat pencil holder and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss and enjoyed cake.

    I had a significant member of our town once tell me, "Well, we can't just roll over and die!" Of course he was talking about spending millions on a project our city did not need but he thought was the answer to our city's future. I don't think maintaining our parks, our cemetery, our city infrastructure, our city equipment, etc.
