    The Parkway East will be closed for five days beginning at 6 a.m., Dec. 27 for the demolition of the Greenfield Bridge . The 96-year-old bridge, which spans the lanes of the parkway's east- and westbound lanes, will be brought down in a controlled implosion tentatively set for 9 a.m., Dec. 28. Also, a $14 million flyover ramp has opened and will provide access to the Carrie Furnace site and to more than 90 acres of riverfront land for redevelopment in Rankin, Swissvale and Pittsburgh.
