    When Cleburne County voters go to the polls Nov. 6, they will choose whether to allow the county commission to pass ordinances about nuisances without having to go through state lawmakers. The Alabama Self-Governance Act - passed in 2005 by the Alabama Legislature - allows counties to prepare ordinances addressing abatement of weeds, animal control, litter control, junk yards, noise nuisances and unsanitary sewage or pollution, according to Cleburne County Commission attorney Jason Odom.
