    The Daily News reports that the Oregon Department of Transportation is spending about $10,000 a day to pump water from the hole to keep it from flowing over nearby Highway 30, however a more permanent repair is still in the works. ODOT spokesman Lou Torres says the sinkhole was caused when a corrugated metal culvert that carries Fox Creek through Rainier was overwhelmed with water during the storms earlier this month.
