    Western Lake Erie will experience a harmful algal bloom again this summer, but it will likely be smaller than the previous eight years due to a drier than normal spring, according to a forecast issued today by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. This summer's bloom is expected to be similar to the mild years from 2008 to 2010, and possibly as small as the 2004 bloom, said Rick Stumpf, an oceanographer and algae bloom specialist with NOAA.
