    A man with repeated prior drug convictions and weapons violations as well as an admitted gang member was arrested early Saturday morning on drugs and weapons charges. The Newberry County Sheriff's Office was conducting a checkpoint at the intersection of Main Street and Brown Street in Prosperity around 2 a.m. Dec. 24 when a vehicle approached the checkpoint and stopped.
