    Voters in Princeton will consider 42 articles, including a $9.3 million annual budget, at the annual town meeting on May 10. The fiscal 2017 budget, which includes $4.57 million for the Wachusett Regional School District and $313,000 for the Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School, is approximately $290,000 higher than in fiscal 2016. Other warrant articles include funding the fiscal 2015 snow and ice deficit as well as $25,500 for the Department of Unemployment Assistance, also from fiscal 2015, several housekeeping articles to close out borrowing and expenditures articles that have been completed.

    Plans for the town's roundabout in the Route 140 traffic safety improvements will be rolled out by state officials at a public hearing April 27. The small roundabout will replace the intersection of Routes 140 and 31 and Beaman Road, creating a gateway into East Princeton Village and allowing traffic to smoothly enter Route 140 from what is now a stop at Route 31. The state Department of Transportation project also will improve access to Beaman Road, which now dumps out almost at the intersection of Routes 140 and 31. The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. April 28 in Town Hall Annex to explain plans for the latest leg of the Route 140 reconstruction project.
