According to Keith Todd with KYTC, portions of Lyon County, near the area, are under a flash flood warning until 2:30 p.m. KYTC crews in Caldwell County report water over KY 91 in several places between Fredonia and Princeton.

    The Kentucky State Police is investigating a two vehicle, fatality collision that occurred on US 62, approximately one mile west of Princeton, on Monday, August 17, at 3:21 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that Paula Brown, 50, Fredonia, KY, was operating a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, pulled over onto the emergency strip of the eastbound lane of US 62 West. Mrs. Brown, a United States Postal Carrier, was stopped in the emergency strip delivering mail in front of 11000 US 62 West.

For an undetermined reason, the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane of travel and onto the emergency strip. The vehicle exited the westbound shoulder of the roadway and entered a ditch, before becoming partially airborne.

Ladd, 36, Princeton, KY, was operating a 2014 Ice Bear Hawk 150 Motor Trike southbound on US 641 when he lost control. The trike exited the right shoulder of the roadway and entered a ditch where it traveled for approximately 87 feet before coming to rest.
