    The Hopewell Police Department identified the victim as Trevon White, 22, of Hopewell and said the death is now being investigated as a homicide. Police said a preliminary investigation shows the shooting occurred as a result of an argument that escalated into a physical altercation between multiple unidentified persons outside of Cambro's Soul Food & Lounge.

    At about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, the Prince George County Police Department responded to the armed robbery at the center, located at 2033 E. Whitehill Road. Two Halloween-masked suspects had approached two center employees as they closed the business, police said, and one of the suspects used a gun to force the employees back inside the building, while their partner ordered the center workers to open its safe.

    Prince George County police are investigating a head-on crash in the 11000 block of Hitchcock Road on Sunday that left a woman dead. Police said Jodie Linkous, 43, of Prince George, was traveling west in a 2016 Kia Soul shortly before 11 a.m. when she crossed the center of the road and struck an eastbound 2010 Honda Accord.

    The chaplain for the Prince George County Police Department was found dead in his home Monday, apparently of natural causes, the department said Tuesday. Pastor Robert W. Livesay III, 71, was a founding member of the Prince George County Police Department's Chaplain Program and had served in that role since 2011, police said in a release.

    A driver was killed Tuesday morning when their vehicle veered off Interstate 95 in Prince George County and crashed into a tree, state police said. Police said the driver was traveling south on I-95 near the 39-mile marker in a 2005 Nissan Maxima when the driver lost control, causing it to run off the left side of the road and strike a tree in the median at approximately 7:15 a.m. Commenting is limited to Times-Dispatch subscribers.

    A Richmond attorney who gained national exposure five years ago for helping incarcerated juvenile offenders as a University of Virginia law student pleaded guilty Thursday to three felonies related to smuggling an opioid drug and a cellphone to an inmate at Riverside Regional Jail serving 30 years for murder. In an agreement between the prosecution and defense, Dana Lauren Tapper, 30, of Richmond pleaded guilty in Prince George County Circuit Court to one count each of providing a prisoner with a cellphone, conspiracy to provide the prisoner with a cellphone, and conspiracy to provide a controlled substance to the prisoner.

Anais Scott, 35, had intended to deliver the drugs - cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, buprenorphine, naloxone, hydrocodone and acetaminophen - to her inmate boyfriend.

In an agreement between the prosecution and defense, Terry Kris Brentlinger, 48, pleaded guilty to nine counts of reproducing child porn, shooting into an occupied dwelling and reckless handling of a firearm.
