The SWAT group and township police officers will train Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the township-owned properties at 2258, 2270 and 2272 E. High St., respectively, according to a media release issued by the chief.

    For a second consecutive year , the Pottsgrove School District on Tuesday attributed significantly higher unanticipated revenues as the primary reason it accumulated a surplus of $1.12 million during the 12-month budget period that ended June 30. A combination of rising interest income, increased real estate transfer tax revenue, and state funding boosted the balance. That additional money - plus savings of about $340,000 in instructional services expenses and other cost-cutting - allowed Pottsgrove to survive what had initially been foreseen as a 2017-2018 budget deficit of $1 million as well as bring in an extra $124,000, Business Administrator David Nester said.
