    The Department of Natural Resources says it will open in late June in the Mud Lake Wildlife area, which is between Portage and Columbus, It's been in the works since 2014, when the DNR shut down a makeshift shooting range in the Swan Lake Wildlife Area after neighbors complained about stray bullets landing in their yards. The project was funded by target shooters and hunters through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration grant program.
