    A University of Wisconsin-Madison student accused of sexual assault, strangulation and false imprisonment involving five women, including some he met in classes, will be back in court next month. Alec Cook's defense attorneys say have maintained the encounters with the women were consensual, and attorney Jessa Nicholson said Monday the defense will soon file a motion to dismiss some of the charges.

    Around 1:00 Monday afternoon, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office was called to a crash on State Highway 73, north of County Highway FW, in the Town of Calamus. When deputies arrived, their investigation showed 59-year-old William Mason, of Stevens Point, was traveling south on 73 in his semi with box trailer.

    The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened around 3:10 a.m. on I-90 at mile marker 106, near Wisconsin 33 and City of Portage. All westbound lanes of I-90 were blocked for nearly two hours, but the scene was cleared and the lanes opened just before 5:00 a.m. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash involved one vehicle and there were injuries reported.

At about 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, Portage police got a call informing them that three masked gunmen had forcibly entered a home and demanded money from the homeowner.
