    June 8, 2017 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation has awarded a state Transportation Economic Development Fund Category A grant totaling $259,605 to the city of Portage that will support a $224 million expansion of Stryker Instruments, resulting in 105 new jobs. Stryker Instruments, a division of the Stryker Corp., is expanding into new research and development opportunities and is building a new medical research campus facility that will consolidate several Stryker Instruments facilities currently located in the Portage area into one campus.
