The company being sued after three people fell from a Ferris wheel in Port Townsend has responded to the federal lawsuit, denying any negligence or liability. The Peninsula Daily News reported Tuesday that Fun-Tastic Shows of Oregon says it is the fault of Shawn Swartwood, her partner Crystal Groth and Groth's 7-year-old son, Mikhail Groth Swartwood, that they were all injured in the May 18 fall. Family injured in Ferris wheel incident sues ride operator
A family injured in a Ferris wheel incident in Port Townsend has filed a lawsuit against the ride's operator. KING5-TV reported Monday that 59-year-old Shawn Swartwood, her partner, 47-year-old Crystal Groth, and their seven-year-old son were all hurt May 18 during the Rhododendron Festival when a Ferris wheel gondola tipped over. Authorities identify Washington state plane crash survivor
The Peninsula Daily News reports that 35-year-old Olympia resident Brent Wood, who was a passenger, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center Saturday morning after the small aircraft crashed into Buck Mountain Friday night. Wood was listed in satisfactory condition on Wednesday. Comment?

The company that owns a Ferris wheel three people fell off in Washington state says the riders may have caused the accident themselves. Ron Burback, president of Oregon-based Funtastic Rides, told The Seattle Times that ride operators had asked the three to remain seated while the ride was in motion. Comment?
