Dalpe, 58, was charged by state police on Friday night with driving while impaired by drugs, having a controlled substance not in an original container and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

    Two men accused of making meth were ordered in Lewis County Court Friday to undergo drug rehabilitation programs as an alternative to state prison time. Joshua E. Hunkins, 27, of 3767 Hunkins Road, Port Leyden, was sentenced, as a second-felony offender, to two years in state prison and two years post-release parole supervision on a charge of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, to which he pleaded guilty Feb. 26. However, he was mandated for the state prison system's 90-day Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program, which allows inmates who successfully complete it to serve the remainder of their prison sentences under parole supervision.
