According to a report from Energy, Illinois police, officers stopped a vehicle Dec. 21 shortly before 2 a.m. After sobriety tests, police say Andrew Bloodworth, 28, of Marion, Illinois was charged with driving under the influence.

    Authorities in southeast Missouri say remains found by a hunter three weeks ago are those of a 64-year-old woman. The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports that Carter County Coroner Erik McSpadden identified the woman as Susan Hamric of rural Van Buren.

    According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at around 11:55 a.m. the Poplar Bluff Police Department received a call of a stabbing on Lester Street. The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital and later air lifted to a Cape Girardeau hospital in very serious condition.

    Two men are now facing murder charges in connection with the death of a man that was shot and found in the Black River in Poplar Bluff on October 22. Online documents show Curtis L. Walker of Moberly, Missouri and Bryce Davis of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, have both been charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action. Casey Marler of Williamsville, Missouri has been charged with tampering with a motor vehicle to the first degree in connection with the incident.
