    BELMAR -- Thirty-five swimmers were saved this weekend in the borough as Tropical storm Jose created life-threatening rip currents along the Jersey Shore. Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty said the 35 were pulled from the water along the borough's 1.3-mile long coastline by lifeguards, police, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Belmar Water Rescue Team.

Police responded to a report of a man who exposed himself to the pair of 12-year-olds at Dorsett Dock Road near Old Drift around 5 p.m. He is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, between 5'7" and 5'9", overweight and clean-shaven.

Point Pleasant Beach police notified the United States Coast Guard at 2:27 a.m. that a 24-year-old woman went missing after she went swimming with a friend off the beach in Point Pleasant, said David Micallef, a spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard's Mid-Atlantic station.
