    A Vermont woman has been arrested after chaining herself to a Vermont Gas Systems pipe site in Essex in protest of phase one of the Addison-Rutland natural gas pipeline. Johanna Anderson of Plainfield was locked to a pipe for three and a half hours before she surrendered to police Thursday around 11 a.m. The Burlington Free Press reports that about a dozen protesters showed up at the work site early Thursday morning.
