    Locker Room owner Ron Atherton said he didn't have a set date when he would retire and close the iconic store that has stood since 1981 at the corner of Cemetery and Lacon roads. But that time came Dec. 31, when Atherton locked the door for the last time on a business he opened in 1975 on Cemetery Road just east of Norwich Street, a little west of its home for the better part of three decades at 4441 Cemetery Road.

    The Union County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Richwood Police Department, Plain City Police Department, Memorial Hospital and the Union County Drug Free Coalition are sponsoring a prescription drug "Take-Back" event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22. The public is encouraged to turn in potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescriptions at this free event. Pills, patches, and other solid prescriptions will be accepted.
