    The Port Authority of Allegheny County will close the Mount Washington Transit Tunnel in Pittsburgh at the end of service Friday until Sunday night so crews can replace a section of damaged rail track near Station Square.

    Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said two people were fighting on the street at Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street around 9:40 p.m. when a Port Authority bus stopped to pick up passengers. The two people continued their fight onto the bus, which the Port Authority officer was accidentally struck in the face with another officer's baton, Brandolph said.

    Authorities have asked for the public's assistance in identifying a woman wanted in connection with a theft at Grand Concourse in Station Square. According to Pittsburgh Police, a 63-year-old woman was dining at the restaurant on Nov. 1 with her purse on the back of her chair.

    The ships will remain docked at Station Square and open to the public from Oct. 1 until their departure early in the morning on Oct. 13. The replica Pinta, also a caravel, was launched in Brazil in 2005. The original Pinta was the first of Columbus' ships, which also included the Santa Maria, to sight land in the New World in 1492.

    The ships will be docked at Station Square and open to the public from Oct. 1 until their departure early in the morning on Oct. 13. In 2005, the Pinta, also a caravel, was launched in Brazil and was the first ship to site land in the New World. Both ships tour together as a new and enhanced 'sailing museum' for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the Caravel, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world.
