Ashley, 37, of Wellsburg, was charged Sept. 19 with third-degree assault. * Eric N. Cheney, 19, of Elmira, was charged Sept. 22 with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child. * Beth A. Dann, 43, of Pine City, was charged Sept. 23 with endangering the welfare of a child. * Brian J. Rought, 31, of Burlington, was arrested Sept. 11 on a warrant charging him with felony violation of probation. * Christine A. Nagel, 51, of Elmira Heights, was charged Sept. 15 with driving while intoxicated and following too closely. * Jack Talada, 30, of Sayre, was charged Sept. 16 with driving while intoxicated, no rear license plate light, failure to signal a turn and unlicensed operation. * Michael L. Lyon, 24, of Erin, was charged Sept. 17 with driving while ability was impaired by alcohol or drugs and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. * Eric B. Bogaczyk, 29, of Newtown Hill Road in Mansfield, was charged Sept. 20 with driving while intoxicated. * Police are investigating a burglary at a residence on Right Axaph Run between Aug. 3 and 12. Taken were a .410 shotgun, .22-caliber rifle, two bear bows with quivers, 25 DVDs and a Crosman pellet gun with scope. A EZGO gas-powered golf cart with white top was also taken from the property. * Police charged a 23-year-old man Sept. 24 with a 10-year-old rape brought to light recently by the victim who was 6 years old at the time. The alleged crime took place in the Millerton area, police said. The suspect who was about 13 years old at the time of the incident has been charged as an adult. However, police did not include the suspect's name in the press release announcing the arrest. * Albert J. Schaefer, 41, of Florence, S.C., was charged Sept. 21 with driving while intoxicated after investigation of a Chevrolet Malibu in a ditch. * Joshua T. Merritt, 19, of Camptown, was charged Sept. 21 with aggravated assault after an altercation about a dog. Thomas L. Merritt, 53, of Camptown, was hospitalized and charged with harassment. * David P. Bennett, 34, of Rome, was charged Sept. 21 with simple assault and harassment after an incident on Orwell Hill Road in Orwell Township. * Arnold Rumsey, 53, of Gillett, was charged Sept. 25 with cruelty to animals stemming from a report of an unattended dog from Aug. 20 to 25. * Police report the theft of the following items last week: A 2007 Yamaha YZF450 dirt-racing motorcycle, blue-white in color with racing number signs attached. It was stolen from Lyle Harry Harkness of Columbia Cross Roads. Six rifles and a television set from the seasonal residence on Delaney Road in Monroe Township of Peter Agustin Williams and Willa Gloria Dulaney of Newtown Square, and James Whitney Dulaney, of Bangor. A Dual car stereo-compact disc player, 12-inch Pioneer speaker, 1,200-watt amplifier and a Sharp MP4 player belonging to James Kelvin Buskirk of Rome from a vehicle parked in the driveway of Rural Route 1 in Orwell Township. A hand-held GPS device from the mailbox of David Sullivan of state Route 2027 in Towanda. Two full five-gallon cans of gasoline and 12 cans of Coors light beer belonging to Edward Everett Scheetz of Rome. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda. * Deputies seized 50 marijuana plants Sept. 23 in a cornfield off Eagle Valley Road in the town of Bath. The investigation continues. The Star-Gazette Police Record now reports felony arrests. The record also includes misdemeanors and major traffic violations that are related to crimes against children or crimes involving drugs or alcohol. The addresses listed in record items -- the last known residence of the accused or the address the person gave to law enforcement officers -- are obtained by the Star-Gazette from police or court records.
