    Former Pinckneyville Rural Fire Protection District employee Tammy Kellerman, 52, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Perry County Criminal Court to one count of theft of government funds over $100,000, a Class X felony, one count of official misconduct, a Class 3 felony, and one count of filing a fraudulent Illinois income tax return, a Class 4 felony It comes less than a month after Kellerman pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case and got more than two years in prison.

    The Illinois State Police is reporting it is investigating a personal injury crash that occurred in Du Quoin on Sunday, Jan. 31. The crash happened just after noon on Sunday. Police report a 16-year-old female from Du Quoin was driving east bound on Greens Market Rd. when she failed to yield at an intersection, hitting another vehicle driving south bound on US Rt 51. The other vehicle was driven by Katherine M. Rice, 27, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, who had three other passengers in the vehicle.
