    The woman who died in a fatal, three-vehicle wreck Wednesday has been identified by the N.C. Highway Patrol. Eboni Harris, 25, of Pikeville, was declared dead at the scene, after the car she was traveling in, a Mazda 626 driven by Dakila Hines, 30, of Goldsboro, slowed unexpectedly on U.S. 70, near Exit 370 where the U.S. 70 Bypass begins just inside Lenoir County, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

    A Pikeville woman was killed Wednesday on U.S. 70 near La Grange after the vehicle she was a passenger in was involved in a three-vehicle accident.  Eboni Shaquail Harris, 25, of Pikeville died after the collision and five other people were injured and taken to three different hospitals.  Trooper Andre Barrett or the N.C. Highway Patrol, said at about 11:44 a.m. Wednesday Dakila Hines, 30, of Goldsboro was driving a Mazda passenger vehicle west on U.S. 70. Harris was sitting in the back seat and another passenger, Lavecia Hines, was sitting in the front passenger seat.  Hines' Mazda allegedly began abruptly braking, and there was no one in front of her, no obstacles on the road and no apparent mechanical problems thus far, Barrett said.  “There was no apparent reason for her to have been abruptly braking in the roadway,” he said.
