    David Roger Nelson, 60, of Piedmont, pleaded guilty this week in federal court in Greenville to harboring a fugitive and conspiracy to steal mail, violations of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1071 and 371, respectively. U.S. District Judge Bruce Howe Hendricks of Charleston will impose sentence after she has reviewed the presentence report that will be prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.

    A Central woman remained in jail on Monday after being charged with stabbing her husband in the back during a verbal altercation on Jan. 3. Mary Ann Hopkins, 55, of 3324 Highway 88, was charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime following her arrest. According to warrants provided by the Pickens County Sheriff's Office, Hopkins and her husband were arguing when she went into the kitchen of their home and armed herself with a knife.
