The front seat passenger, William Joshua Russell, exited the vehicle and came to the room investigators were searching.

    Hannah Elizabeth Jones of Lenoir City was recently named to the spring 2018 dean's list at Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, N.C. To make the list, students had to earn a 3.5 grade-point average or higher while taking 12 semester hours and carry no grade below a C. Full-time students needed a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher with no grade below a C and at least 14 credits during the semester, at least 12 of which were graded on a letter-grade basis to make the list. Amanda Catherine Reese, who is majoring in landscape architecture, was named to the spring 2018 dean's list at the University of Kentucky.

    A Philadelphia woman is facing multiple charges after law enforcement was sent to Cedar Street in Loudon for a naked woman on the hood of a vehicle. Loudon Police Officer Bennie Houser met the woman, April Dawn Harrison, on Hackberry Street, where she was "doing some kind of dance," according a report from Houser.

    A Salem, Ind., man is facing a felony possession of firearm charge after he called law enforcement believing he was being followed on Interstate 40. Dispatch informed Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Clendenen that James Michael Gates, 42, said he feared for his life and needed to be placed in protective custody after he called ISIS on his former employer. "While speaking with the driver, James Gates, he advised that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia," Clendenen wrote in the report.

    James David Ingram, 44, of Sweetwater, has been charged with reckless homicide related to an Oct. 2, 2017, overdose death. Ingram "provided the financial means" for Jonathan Brewster, 34, of Philadelphia, to purchase oxymorphone that was in his system at the time of the overdose, according to a release from Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

Jimmy Matlock, sponsor of a version of the bill in the Tennessee House of Representatives, pulled it from the calendar March 20. "We were never successful in getting the county and the cities to work all of our points into one bill, so we're going to continue trying on that, but it will not be this year," Matlock said.
