The death of the 12-year-old shepherd mix landed 49-year-old David Shuck in jail with a charge of animal cruelty ; unlike his dog, who was trapped and suffering in a kennel run with inadequate shelter during sub-zero temperatures, Shuck quickly bonded out of his proverbial kennel when he was released from the Miami County jail on bond on the same day that he was arrested.
