Perth Amboy emergency dispatchers contacted Coast Guard Sector New York around noon Sunday, reporting that the pleasure craft was disabled in Raritan Bay with four people on board, according to information from the Coast Guard.

After being struck, Grzelczak was taken to Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, where she was pronounced dead around 7 p.m. An investigation determined that the driver was heading east on Washington Road in Sayreville when he struck Grzelczak as she attempted to cross the roadway mid-block, not in the crosswalk.
