    At the same time lights from World Fair's were being installed on the grounds Penn Hills Resort in Analomink, Fernwood Resort in Bushkill was being rebuilt after a fire. As part of the resort's remodel, Bob Ahnert and his brother Harry, both of Fernwood, purchased some of the fair's outdoor lighting, according to Pocono Record reader B.A.R. The lamps, the same style as the Westinghouse lights bought for Penn Hills, were used at Fernwood through the 1960s into early '80s to brightened the way along both sides of Route 209.

    Authorities are now involved in an investigation into financial troubles at the Penn Hills School District after the district's acting superintendent went to police with what is believed to be "documented evidence of theft and fraud," according to a statement the district posted on its web site. Channel 11's news partners at TribLIVE reported that the investigation involves an employee or employees misuse of school district credit cards.
