    A Saturday excursion around Long Island's North Fork can now be done by trolley. This is thanks to "Experience the North Fork by Trolley," a shuttle service that stops in the region's historic downtowns, farms, vineyards and farms through Nov. 11. The service includes a loop through Greenport available until Oct. 7, and a Mattituck-Peconic loop that extends from Oct. 14 through Nov. 11. The North Fork "is quickly becoming a top tourist destination and it is as scenic as it is historic," said County Executive Steve Bellone in a statement.

    September 8, 2017 - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced the official launch of the "Experience the North Fork by Trolley" shuttle service that will operate for 10 straight Saturdays beginning tomorrow, September 9 to November 11. The scheduled service will be divided into two service phases: Phase one will service the Greenport loop from September 9t to October 7, and Phase two will serve the Mattituck - Peconic loop from October 14 to November 11. "We are excited to introduce this new experiential trolley service on the North Fork to serve our residents and visitors," said Suffolk County Executive Bellone. "Suffolk County's North Fork is quickly becoming a top tourist destination and it is as scenic as it is historic.
