    Under the leadership of Commodore Zak Fanberg, the Bay Waveland Yacht Club proudly hosts the 98th Annual Sir Thomas Lipton Challenge Lipton Cup Regatta this Saturday and Sunday September 1and 2. Twenty yacht clubs in the Gulf Yachting Association are expected to bring their new Viper 640 sailboats to the Bay for this major event of the sailing season. The GYA was founded in 1901 and has grown in size from six to thirty-three clubs that stretch from Texas to Florida and North to Arkansas.
