    The West Virginia Attorney General's Office does not agree with a proposed plan by the city of Parkersburg to delay cuts to the city's business and occupation tax until January following the implementation of a municipal sales tax which began July 1. "The Attorney General's Office this week issued a response to the Municipal Home Rule Board's question regarding whether Parkersburg's decision to delay its business and occupation tax cut while moving forward with implementing the sales tax complies with the state's Home Rule law," said Jared Hunt, press secretary with the office of the West Virginia Attorney General, in a press release issued Saturday.
