    U.S. Border Patrol agents allege that an Oswego County man conspired to distribute marijuana after 110 pounds of the drug was allegedly found in the trunk of a vehicle he was operating on Route 37. Brett Thomas, age not available, Parish, is charged with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute less than 50 kilograms of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court, Plattsburgh. According to the complaint, agents stopped a 2004 Buick Regal June 8 on Route 37 in the town of Waddington for unspecified reasons.

    An Adams Center man is dead and another is critically injured after a one-car accident around 3:15 this morning near Exit 33 of Interstate 81. Oswego County sheriff's deputies said Spencer Parsons, 24, and Alexander J. Chartrand, 23, also of Adams Center, were both ejected from the 2014 GMC pickup truck after the vehicle careened off the northbound highway and overturned. Mr. Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene, and Mr. Chartrand was taken to Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, where his is currently listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
