The Panama City Beach City Council voted 4-1 Tuesday afternoon to ban alcohol consumption on beaches and in parking lots through April 18. The council also made permanent what had been a temporary, spring break-only ordinance to close bars in the city at 2 a.m. instead of 4 a.m. Bay County Commissioners passed a similar ordinance Tuesday morning , to ban drinking on county-controlled portions of the beach, outside of the city limits.
