    A six-mile stretch of the highway that runs through Palm Springs will be reduced to one lane starting Monday, as crews begin a nearly two-month, $1.53 million road repair project, Caltrans reported Wednesday. Highway 111, otherwise known as Vista Chino in Palm Springs, will be dug out, repaired and have a layer of slurry seal applied over the course of seven weeks, during which time drivers will have to funnel into one lane through the construction zone.
