    The Palm Harbor Community Services Agency, or PHCSA, has hired a director to head East Lake Recreation in December, paying the recommended applicant $10,000 more than the agency originally budgeted for the job. Mark Sanders accepted the job, with a salary of $58,000, on Dec. 23. It's a significant drop in pay for the former high school athletic director, who was making $91,000 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

    Pinellas County Commissioners will take comment on proposed changes to the Downtown Historic Palm Harbor Master Plan during a second public hearing scheduled on Feb. 10. A related hearing will allow comment on amendments to the county's land development code to accommodate changes to allow artisan establishments and alcoholic beverage production facilities in downtown Palm Harbor. The regular commission meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in the fifth floor Assembly Room of the Pinellas County Courthouse, 315 Court St., Clearwater.

According to the sheriff's report, robbery occurred about 2 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Cadence Bank, 36301 U.S. 19 N. in Palm Harbor Detectives said the suspect entered the bank, walked towards a teller, pointed a gun and demanded cash.

    A Palm Harbor man was arrested at his home in Palm Harbor Dec. 16 on three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of three females under the age of 12. According to a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Donald Keith Emerson, 55, is accused of touching the victims inappropriately. Deputies said two of the victims are currently under the age of 12. The third victim was under the age of 12 when Emerson allegedly molested her several years ago.
