Both events will be held in the schools' respective theaters, and are open to the public.

Corning City Judge Mathew McCarthy announced the trial date for Bryan A. Townsend on Tuesday during a preliminary hearing at City Hall. Townsend's attorney, Thomas Bowes, of Yorio, Ferratella & Bowes Attorneys at Law, Painted Post, said the trial will likely take several days.

    The state Supreme Court's Appellate Division, Fourth Department, located in Rochester, upheld an earlier decision by a trial court judge that the Painted Post Village Board had not conducted the state-required environmental review properly for the water sales operation. The appeals court ruled that the village was wrong in classifying the sale of up to one million gallons per day of municipal water for use in Pennsylvania gas drilling operations as the sale of surplus property, thus avoiding an in-depth review of the environmental impact of the water sales.
