Jan. 12 --Beginning in 2012 and continuing into 2013, the city of Owensboro plowed through a complicated process that led to a mass foreclosure action against 21 problem properties, most of them residential. Several broken down houses were eventually demolished and the lots made available for new homes. Comment?
Nov. 14 --Speaking to a roomful of parks and recreation specialists Thursday, Mayor Ron Payne outlined the four components that he said led to the revitalization of downtown Owensboro -- public involvement, the right plan, political will and partnerships. It all started with the rebuilding of a park to reconnect the city to the Ohio River , the mayor said. Comment?
