But she has long been frustrated - like many other bicyclists - about a nearly mile-long trail gap that has existed for more than a decade near Layer Elementary School in Winter Springs that forces her to take a detour on State Road 419 or get off her two-wheeler and walk along a dirt path to connect with the other section of the trail.

    A plan by Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg to open a branch office in Winter Springs where residents can renew their drivers license, apply for a concealed-weapons permit or pay their property taxes has been delayed after a construction contractor failed to obtain a permit. City officials on Jan. 31 posted a "stop work notice" on the glass door of the old bank building at State Road 434 and Vistawilla Drive that was purchased by the Tax Collector's Office last May and was being renovated into a branch office.
