    An Iowa man faces driving while intoxicated charges in the town of Oswegatchie after a county sheriff's deputy stopped him for having an inadequate license plate lamp on his vehicle. Michael J. Cleland, 34, of Dubuque, Iowa, was charged with DWI, first offense.

    An Ogdensburg teenager was charged Sunday with illegally using a motor vehicle after St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Ethan P. Robinson, 16, of 57 County Route 28, was charged by deputies with third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

    State police on July 9 charged Trevor E. Johnson, 24, of 3543A Route 3, Oswegatchie, with felony third-degree attempted burglary. Troopers charge at 1:43 a.m. on June 25 at Adirondack Pharmacy, 4057 Route 3 in the town, while responding to a burglar alarm and awaiting the arrival of a keyholder to the pharmacy, they saw Mr. Johnson operating a black 2009 Nissan traveling west in front of the pharmacy.

    The early French and American site is located at the confluence of the St. Lawrence and Oswegatchie rivers in Ogdensburg, and is considered to be the birthplace of modern-day Ogdensburg. Assemblywoman Addie A. E. Jenne was in the city Saturday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the one-mile Abbe Picquet walking trail at the former site of a French fort built in 1749.

The 1.5 mile run, 8 mile bike, 1.5 mile run - duathlon series will again start at Hosmer's Marina at 6:30 p.m. Registration opens at 5:30 for individuals and teams for racers 13 years of age or older.     Charles B. Dixon, 50, 4057 County Route 6, Hammond, and Nicholas D. O'Nolan, 39, Hudson, Fla., are each charged with felony third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine. The indictment charges on March 21 in the town of Oswegatchie Mr. Dixon and Mr. Nolan were in possession of two or more items of laboratory equipment and two or more precursors, chemical reagents or solvents for the purpose of making methamphetamine.

    St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday charged Brad L. Finley Jr., 40, formerly of 463 Oswegatchie Trail Road, Oswegatchie, with failing to register a change of address with the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Deputies charge between Oct. 4 and Dec. 31, Finley, a Level 1 sex offender, moved to an unknown address and did not notify the registry within the 10-day limit.
